This collection of old “samurai” photographs, apparently curated by a foreigner, have been reposted on Hamusoku.com, and are getting Japanese netizens talking.
The source of the photographs is not revealed, but for the most part
they show a bygone age, albeit a slightly later period than might
originally be assumed. Most of the photographs appear to be
hand-coloured prints — most likely postcards for tourism purposes — and
are were probably taken in the early twentieth century — apart from
those of Mishima Yukio, that is.
Hamusoku netizens enjoyed looking at the collection — we hope you do too.
